Sorry for this, yyyeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss get in there!

Anyway, as a spectator this week, I went along as team bus driver/temporary coach/lone nervous supporter. Turned up, and wow oh wow, was it wet. A delayed start till 1.45pm, meant a reduced overs game of 40. So we win the toss and decide to field first.

The ball is just sticking in/to the ground as Rowey is coming off at my pace, and that's slow. A couple of wickets tumble but the score is moving on at 60 for 3 off 15 overs. Some decent fielding, some well taken catches, and AA takes 5 wickets, Tugboat, on debut, picks up 2 and Rowey scoops 3 as Harvel are bowled out in the 38th over for 111. A small total but in the context of the pitch, a difficult total as it is a complete leveler.

A bad start as Bish is gone for 4 in the first over, bowled by Desmond Bailey. Next Payno goes the other end, to James Marrable, whilst AA is digging in, in between the odd whooshed big shot. Then Bej goes shortly followed by Hobbo, as Bailey & Marrable pick up another wicket each. 29 for 4 off 11 overs, and it's a little edgy. Ahh, no problem AA digs in further and works the ball around as Des Bailey bowls really well, and Hickers like so many times this year also gets to it and manoeuvers the ball around. The total builds up, but a sudden big shot by Hickers hasn't got the height and goes to the man on the short boundary by the pub, but he drops it!  Costly, as the pair then win the game in the 32nd over, AA gets his 50 scoring the winning runs and Hickers a solid 34 not out - absolutely fantastic.

A little celebration as we're up to the big time - well Premier league, for the first time in the clubs history. Elsewhere Beckenham beat Blackheath, meaning we need just 1 point to be crowned Division 1 champions in the last game against Hythe. Unbelievable, two years in a row, unbelievable effort, fantastic attitude and disciplines. Top work.

One game to go, and then let the celebrations commence. Wooo hooooo

After a resounding whipping by Sandwich last time round, we were looking to prove we were better than that, and so it proved.

Winning the toss, the skipper got us batting in overcast, light drizzly conditions. Again a good start before AA was caught at mid wicket for 22. Bish and Payno then knocked the ball around nicely before Payno reached his 50, overtaking Bish, but was immediately dis-missed for 50 by stalwart Alan Amos. Bej came and went, Hickers got in and Bish passed his 50 and looked to push on. Bish finally fell for 74, trying to hoik a straight one, Hickers went for 19, Hobo for 8 after a big six and a broken window, and Lodgey deciding a single was a good idea straight to mid off. We ended on a decent 194, probably 20 or 30 short, but a decent total.Sandwich bowled well enough.

After a couple of match-free weeks Sibton's Under 15s were looking for a positive result against Hythe in the Saxon Shore League to build on their win against Betteshanger at the end of May.  The Park pitch was looking flat and the weather was set fair as Hythe went in to bat first.

Sibton Park won by 27 runs.

Sibton batted first on a bright and breezy morning at the Tilmanstone Welfare ground. A young Nonington attack bowled a good, tight line but struggled to contain Bradley Wake-Smith as he hit some powerful shots on his way to a fine 31 before retiring. Nevertheless they kept at it and chipped away at the Sibton batting line-up until Noah Greenwood steadied things with another impressive 31 not out. Other notable contributions came from Sam Ansell (13) and Max Yorke (12 not out). Sibton eventually posting a competetive score of 141 for 4 from their 20 overs.

Well what a game.

We didn't win or lose the toss. We then didn't bat first and the Beckenham bowlers didn't bowl. Am I turning in to Mick Cork with all this nonsense?  No, it bloody rained hard and had to be abandoned because there were puddles everywhere on the square.

Hey ho - we need to keep focused on the last 3 games and not worry about anything else. We play our best, train hard, play hard, stick to our plan, hold our nerve and at the end if we know we've done our best, then that is all that matters. Anything else is a bonus.

2's had a fantastic win, which has boosted them and potentially leaves them with a chance of going up. Like us they also need to focus on the last three games - work and train hard.
