Well, I think 6 out of 10 would be about right for the computer. Worked very well in the first innings, got stuck in the second and then it just became a bit too difficult catching up. Still the stats and analysis is nice. You can see all that on our Total Cricket Scorer Page. So the experiment will continue to next week. Live scores won't work until we get Internet tethering and iPhones sorted out. Hopefully next week.

In a study published today, two leading anthropologists from the University of Kent have expressed concern about the almost total absence of a species once found abundantly in the Elham Valley and are putting the blame on global warming. Dr B Steers said 'Before this weekend, it was hard to walk 10 yards anywhere in the Valley without hearing the distinctive call of Cricketus Australis Overseesus but no one has seen one anywhere since about 4:00 yesterday. It's a complete mystery." The situation is being closely monitored.

 A new template for 2010. The change is mainly for cosmetic reasons, though the old design isn't being updated any more. Still, we could go back if anyone really objects. The new template is a bit bigger and heavier, so if there are loading problems I'll change back. I've also seen it crash a few times, though not recently. Any problems, post them in the Forum. Profiles definitely don't work any more but no one used them anyway.

Unlike other browsers which have got bigger and bigger, hogging more and more memory, Firefox 3 is quicker than its predecessor and more compact. I'm sick of Internet Explorer misbehaving, just stopping sometimes and I'm really bored with all its little quirks. It can't position the slide show on the front page correctly because it doesn't interpret the style sheet for the upcoming events correctly, for example. Firefox is more secure against malware and other nasty Internet tricks, can be made to look exactly how you want it to look and has some wonderful add-ons because it's open-source (anyone can write code for it).

Internet Explorer doesn't even come second. Opera is much better but doesn't work with play-cricket because ECB decided not to let it.

The first in a series that proves however bad you think things are, they could always be worse. You could, for example, be related to the author of this book.
